Expect The Bullshit, But Never Accept It

Wells, Goodell and the rest of the NFL may not realize it yet, but Tom Brady has already got an edge up on the “deflategate” war. How many other athletes can say that in one day they single-handedly made a once credible league look like the biggest laughingstock of professional sports?

There are so many players who would’ve come unraveled at the accusations and the punishment issued.  But

Although this whole sack of bullshit is just beginning, there are a few questions that stick in my mind.  If “deflategate” is such a big deal, then why only two draft picks?  Everyone knows Kraft is loaded.  Why only a million bucks?  And why only four games?  I’ve come up with my own answers:

Two picks because of where the Patriots will probably be picking.  After all, it’s not very “probable” the Patriots will be the first to select in the draft anytime soon, unless Bill really does some major wheeling and dealing.  Does anyone know which two picks?  Maybe sixth or seventh round, say around number 199?

Only a million bucks because it’s a nice even number and Goodell has to try to stay on Kraft’s “good” list.  What he doesn’t know is that he is at the very bottom of that list.  In fact, I don’t even think he’s on the list any longer.  Maybe he never was.

Why four games?  Could it be because

Coincidence?  More like a conspiracy.

I’m no expert and certainly not a predictor of the future.  But here is what I think is going to happen between now and the start of football season (not necessarily in order):

1.  Tom Brady is going to appeal his punishment

2.  Tom Brady and Bob Kraft are going to sue the NFL

3.  There will be a new NFL commissioner before the next season begins

4.  Tom Brady will be the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots on September 10, 2015.  Jimmy G, you take a seat and continue to learn from the best

As the popular saying goes:  “they hate us ’cause they ain’t us”.  Yes, and

I'm a writer. I'm also a wife and a parent who works too much and lives too little. In addition to writing I also love to read, listen to music, travel, cook, I enjoy looking for bargains at flea markets or thrift stores, Christmas, football and of course writing! How did I come up with the title of my blog? Two things: 1. I live in New England (duh) and 2. Canadian singer Alan Frew once arrogantly told me to "get a New England life"--again--DUH! I already HAVE one!

Tell me what you think!
