Consider What It COULD’VE Been Like

November 4 marked the anniversary of Barack Obama’s election into the presidency of these United States.

I feel that in those eight years Obama was the best president my generation has seen so far. I don’t care what anyone says or thinks. Yes, he was not perfect. Show me a president who is/was perfect.

So many people forget, or maybe they just ignore, all the good he did for the country. Did you ever stop to think where we’d be if McCain and Idiot Face Palin had won in 2008? Or if Romney and Smug Face Ryan had won in 2012? Cars wouldn’t be made in Detroit any longer because Romney’s plan was to let Detroit sink. Obama bailed them out and they paid back their loans with interest. A growing problem got rectified.

Would Bin Laden had been captured? Hard to know but I do know the Republican Dumbass before Obama couldn’t do it, so I wouldn’t have put too much faith into McCain or Romney either.

As for the healthcare issue everyone keeps bitching about, would you prefer you have NO coverage, keep going to the hospital for free care, until the hospitals go under and then what? Or is it that you want healthcare coverage but you don’t want to pay for it? Well, as the old saying goes “you get what you pay for”. Bitching about healthcare costs going up? Mine goes up EVERY YEAR and I have pretty decent health coverage through a good employer.  And if you’re a young person who feels they don’t need health coverage, well, good luck with that.  I hope you never plan on getting sick, having a baby, getting old or getting cancer.

So, people, before you bash Obama consider what it could’ve been like.

As a side note, before you cast your vote for the next president, think hard about your decision. Remember:  if you elect someone and they get assassinated or impeached, the VP takes over. Keep that in mind.

I still shudder at the thought of Palin ever possibly being in the White House!

I'm a writer. I'm also a wife and a parent who works too much and lives too little. In addition to writing I also love to read, listen to music, travel, cook, I enjoy looking for bargains at flea markets or thrift stores, Christmas, football and of course writing! How did I come up with the title of my blog? Two things: 1. I live in New England (duh) and 2. Canadian singer Alan Frew once arrogantly told me to "get a New England life"--again--DUH! I already HAVE one!

Tell me what you think!
