Posted in Christmas

A Week Later

Only a week ago we were eating turkey and stuffing.

Only a week ago we were standing in a mile-long line waiting to check out of Walmart on the eve of Black Friday (which was really 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving in Putnam, CT).

It was only a week ago that I witnessed a bunch of jolly Bath and Body Works employees dancing around the store at 5:00 a.m. to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas (Is You)”.

It was only a week ago that we made our yearly pilgrimage to Jim’s Christmas Trees to purchase–you guessed it!–a Christmas tree.

Here we are a week later–December 2.  I’ve already attended my first Christmas party and I’m almost done with my shopping.

Three weeks from now we’ll be at the threshold of Christmas.  I’ll be savoring each moment, wishing it could last forever.  That’s why I keep Christmas in my heart all year long.  I love it so much I can never let it completely go away.

I'm a writer. I'm also a wife and a parent who works too much and lives too little. In addition to writing I also love to read, listen to music, travel, cook, I enjoy looking for bargains at flea markets or thrift stores, Christmas, football and of course writing! How did I come up with the title of my blog? Two things: 1. I live in New England (duh) and 2. Canadian singer Alan Frew once arrogantly told me to "get a New England life"--again--DUH! I already HAVE one!

Tell me what you think!
