Hi, I’m Michelle McHatton and welcome to my blog. I’ve been working this blog since 2007 when I was inspired to create something as a means to reflect on my thoughts and showcase my writing.
Having worked within Corporate America since 1989, I’ve had the opportunity to lend my writing talents to everything from resumes, business plans, public relations, mission statements and websites.
But work is work and my true passion is “real” writing. I guess you could say my main genre is women’s fiction; however, I’ve also written a memoir, two screenplays, many short stories, essays and poetry. I’ve completed a novella and am in the infancy stages of another blog about my experiences in raising a child on the autism spectrum.
I’m married to my best friend Mike and we have a 19-year-old daughter who is on the autism spectrum. We are her biggest advocates, and she has inspired me so much in many things I do, especially my writing.
I’m proud to call New England, namely Massachusetts, my home. I have lived here all my life and wouldn’t want it any other way.
Fun facts about me: I have had three different last names, but I’ve only been married once, when I was 18 I played the flute on TV and I was part of the last grand jury to serve in the old Worcester courthouse before it closed and the new one opened.
My hobbies include Christmas, spending time with my family, music, travel, cooking, and movies. I also have two cats named Clarence and Bruce. And yes, I am a Springsteen fan.
In addition to this blog, what does the future hold for me? Could be a lot of things. The possibilities are endless.
Feel free to peruse my posts. Let me know what you think, as I value any kind of feedback. Thank you for visiting.
