It has been a while since I’ve posted anything about the New England Patriots on this blog. But dammit, I’m going to post something right now.
How about those Patriots? From a 4-13 record last season to a 14-3 record this season. Night and day. A complete 360.
After the win over Buffalo, when the tables turned, I first thought this team could make the playoffs. And that was back in October. And the wins kept coming. Perfect on the road. The only team in the NFL to do that this year. That is impressive. They kept saying the Patriots have never won in Denver. No. The past Patriots teams have never won in Denver. Nobody knew what the current Patriots team could do in Denver.
So now the Super Bowl looms. It’s been seven years. As of this writing, we’re either going to play the Rams or the Seahawks. We have played both franchises before in the Super Bowl. But not these teams. And they have not played this Patriots team before. That’s important to remember. It’s really an entirely different ball game for both sides.
This is a talented and young team with a humble QB named Drake Maye at the helm and a hands-on and caring coach in Mike Vrabel guiding them. As a Patriots fan, I’m hoping for the best. But whatever happens on February 8, it’s been a hell of a ride.
