Going In the Wrong Direction

Going In the Wrong Direction

Where once Massachusetts seemed to be doing so well in the coronavirus war, we have somehow gotten out of control. Considering recent incidents I have witnessed, I can see why.

There’s nothing like standing in line at a pharmacy waiting to get a flu shot and having the elderly man in front of you coughing his head off. Then you later see the same man wearing a facemask–down over his chin.

In the same pharmacy I witnessed a man approach the pharmacy desk–with no facemask on. As the 98-year-old woman going to get her flu shot passed by.

My sister, who works in a grocery store, tells me of this crazy guy who comes in several times a week wearing a winter hat, carrying a Macy’s bag and wearing no mask. When he is told he needs to wear a mask, he laughs and says “well, you’re wearing a mask so we’re all set”. My sister said if she could do it and not get fired, she’d rip off her mask, cough in his face and tell him now he’s all set too. He now has coronavirus. The only thing this nut job buys is six pounds of ripe bananas. Either he has a pet monkey or he really is a looney tune.

The problem with these scenarios, and part of the reason why Massachusetts is through the roof once again with cases, after doing so well, is that the management in these places isn’t doing anything about the problem people that are visiting. And once these problem people visit and get away with it, they think they can every time.

The other day one of them ranted and raved at the manager at Customer Service in the supermarket because he was spoken to about not having a mask on. He whipped out his alleged “I have a disability and don’t need a mask” card and the customer service rep let it go. What she really should have done was call security and have his mask less ass hauled out of the store and banned from the store for life.

My sister, who is a cashier at this store, told me this scenario:

Customer: (sigh) I’m so sick of having to wear a mask

Sis: Considering I have a friend who is in the hospital on a ventilator right now due to Covid, I think wearing a mask is a good idea.

Not sure, but I think that bitch will think twice in the future before complaining about wearing a mask.

With the rising cases, do I think it’s wise of Governor Baker to warrant an increase in restaurant seating, open venues and arcades, roller rinks, museums, etc.? Even if they’re just in the “good” communities? Do I think it’s wise of my school district to be planning on having athletics and working on a hybrid plan to get the high schoolers back in school before Thanksgiving? Not exactly. Not with between 500–700-plus cases popping up every day. What happens when we start seeing the numbers we saw back in March? One-thousand plus cases. Every day. Then what?

Considering most have the freedom to go just about anywhere they want if they wear a mask, they should keep in mind those who cannot go anywhere because they cannot wear a mask. Like my autistic sister Peggy and most of the people who attend her day program, which they haven’t been to in over six months. Most of these people, my sister included, haven’t stepped foot in a store, a salon, a bar, a museum, a zoo, amusement park, beach or restaurant since March. I’m lucky I can even visit my sister at all and the most we can do is go for a ride. I can’t take her anywhere except to my house for a visit and that’s not too fun for her. So it really angers me when people who have all the liberties in the world with the simple use of a goddamn facemask are bitching and complaining. And the ones who do have the ability to wear a fucking mask won’t because they’re too goddamn ignorant.

You know the old saying “one bad apple spoils the whole bunch”? Well, those few out there are the bad apples. And they’re the ones spoiling the whole bunch.

Feeling Empowered

Feeling Empowered

Tonight a friend of mine related her tale about dealing with a small group of SHITHOLE supporters during a late afternoon walk.

She had walked from her residence to the local McDonald’s in Spencer and was resting before her walk back. She watched as an older man and woman stood across from the McDonald’s waving their SHITHOLE flag. As she began walking back, she encountered a few more SHITHOLE “supporters” on her side of the street.

She told me that there was “an old fuck sitting in a lawn chair on the side of the road with a sign that read ‘we don’t need masks'”. In back of him was a woman “waving the American flag”.

When she got to the Flexcon company, she said there was a man (or she believes was a man), standing there in a suit and tie wearing a SHITHOLE mask. Now, if that isn’t a coward, I don’t know what is. Or maybe he/she was secretly mocking SHITHOLE. Who knows? She said in her text to me: “I’m not shitting you. He was pretending to be SHITHOLE wearing a fucking Halloween mask and a suit and tie.”

Next to him was a woman holding a SHITHOLE flag and next to her was some slummy looking guy holding a “don’t tread on me” flag. And next to him was another woman holding another SHITHOLE flag.

At this point she says “she lost it”. She couldn’t control herself after seeing that person dressed up like SHITHOLE. My friend told me she turned to the first woman holding a SHITHOLE flag and told her that she (my friend) was voting for Biden. My friend then went on to ask the woman how she could like a man who talks about grabbing women’s pussies and disrespects women. My friend said the dumb woman just smiled and said nothing. Of course she didn’t. She’s so brainwashed it’s probably a miracle she can get out of bed in the morning.

My friend said when she passed the other woman she again said she was voting for Biden and she said “fuck SHITHOLE”. Then the woman had the audacity to tell my friend to “not be angry”. Really? Why should my friend not be angry when the ” leader” of the United States is the most angry person on the planet? If I had been there I would have asked the bitch why she had been angry when Obama was president. But then I could have answered for her. Because she’s a racist. And I know she’s a racist. Because only a racist would be standing there on Route 9 in Spencer, Massachusetts wasting their time holding a sign or a flag for a racist White supremacist asshole.

Getting back to my friend….

My friend went on saying to this woman that “the debate the other night wasn’t even a debate. SHITHOLE couldn’t even control himself and carried on like a child.”. Once again she said she yelled “FUCK SHITHOLE!” and then stormed away.

She said the beauty of it all was that they were all standing on the sidewalk and had to move back on to the grass to let her walk by.

She said that made her feel empowered. And at the end of her text she made a very good point:

If SHITHOLE was so great, people wouldn’t have to be out there shoving him down our throats hoping to get our votes.

Two Weeks

Two Weeks

SHITHOLE’S latest plan is to have a new, beautiful healthcare plan to present in two weeks. Americans aren’t holding their breath, considering SHITHOLE has been spewing this shit for the past four years.

The latest has him touting that his “plan” will offer telehealth (many doctors have been offering this for years), lower drug costs (I’ll believe it when I see it and personally, many of my medications cost nothing) and alledged protection for pre-existing conditions. Which we already have under the ACA.

Even if this “beautiful” plan were established tomorrow, SHITHOLE could be dead and gone before it even goes into effect. Remember, the ACA did not happen overnight. It had to happen gradually. As would any replacement. If there really is a replacement. Or will it just be a repeal and to hell with everyone. Nobody in America will have health insurance of any kind.

They didn’t even start working on the money pit within two weeks!

If there’s anything that Ruth Bader Ginsburg would want the American people to do it would be to vote.

Vote as if your life depends on it. Because it does.

We all know what’s at stake. Do you want another four years of the shit you’ve already been dealt? A hand that isn’t going to improve, but only get worse? Or do you want a chance at a new hand? A better hand?

There’s a reason why RBG passed away on Rosh Hashanah and the first day that people in America could early vote. Because everything happens for a reason.

Ginsburg is famous for saying “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”

The best way to do that?  VOTE!
